October 1

Psalm 126; 128; 129; 132; 147; 149

The Lord's temple has been restored and so now the editor of the Daily Bible inserts the last of the psalms into the reading.  These are psalms of praise to a God who has heard and restored his people.  The God of both Old and New Testament is a forgiving God.

We worry so much about the form of our praise to God, whether it's an acceptable sacrifice.  When we should just praise.  Because isn't our sacrifice accepted based on where are heart is and not what our sacrifice is?  Praise God, be it with dancing, a tambourine or in bed.  Yeah, in bed.

Praise the Lord.

Sing to the Lord a new song,
   His praise in the assembly of the saints.

Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
   let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
Let them praise His name with dancing
   and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.
For the Lord takes delight in His people;
   He crowns the humble with salvation.
Let the saints rejoice in this honor
   and sing for joy on their beds.
